Income Tax Return Filing
Filing your income tax return is what keeps you on FBR’s Active Taxpayers List (ATL). Being a filer means lower withholding tax on banking, property and vehicle transactions, and far fewer surprises from FBR. We prepare your return and wealth statement, reconcile them with your bank and tax deduction records, and file on IRIS.
What’s included

- Wealth reconciliation that actually balances
- Claiming withholding tax already deducted from you
- Salary, business, rental, foreign and capital gains income

Common questions
When is the income tax return deadline?
Pakistan’s tax year runs from 1 July to 30 June. For most individuals the return is due by 30 September after the tax year ends, and FBR sometimes extends the date. You can still file after the deadline, but late filing can mean penalties and affects your ATL status, so it’s best to file on time.
What is the Active Taxpayers List (ATL)?
The ATL is FBR’s list of people and businesses who have filed their returns. If you’re on it (a “filer”), you generally pay lower withholding tax on banking transactions, property purchases, vehicle registration and more.
I don’t have taxable income. Should I still file?
Often, yes. Filing a return keeps you on the ATL, documents your assets properly, and makes property deals, loans and visa applications easier.
Can you file returns for previous years?
Yes. We can prepare and file pending returns for earlier years and explain any penalties involved before we start.
